Once upon a time, there was a little girl, her father, and their okonomi-yaki yatai. Then along came this boy named Ranma....

Those of you familiar with the manga/anime series _Ranma½_ know who I am, or at least who I'm supposed to be. Others of you in the otaku community know who I _really_ am, and I'll wager it doesn't matter much beyond that. For now, consider me the 'buddy chick,' the friend in need who knows she's not gonna get the guy in the end, but plans to make the best of life in any event (yes, I've matured since Takahashi-megami-sensei left us)

I used to write anime fanfiction, years ago, but as the Ucchan got more profitable (read "busy," won't you?), there hasn't been much of that going on. I've always said, too, that fanfiction was something you did when you couldn't get enough anime, and that is nowhere NEAR a problem anymore. I still read the stuff, when I get the chance.

Konatsu and I have been married for over a decade now (well, I should GUESS... Dan-chan's almost in his teens after all), and it's been wonderful. Sure, you wonder about Ran-chan, and what life might have been like, but that was an idealized scenario, and life rarely works out that way. Sometimes, it works out better; you just don't know it at the time.

I still keep a toe in the anime community, despite my general silence; Konatsu-chan and I attend several anime conventions every year, and I do my level best to report on EVERYthing that I see happening there (well, ALMOST everything) Keep your eyes peeled: you might just see us there (or not... you might not recognize us)!
